
What are the steps to becoming a Big Brother, Big Sister, In-School Mentor or Indirect Volunteer?
Step 1: Attend a one hour INFORMATION SESSION held at one of four locations in York Region. Here, you will find out more information about our agency and programs and have an opportunity to ask questions.
Step 2: At the Information Session, you may pick up an APPLICATION PACKAGE or download the application package (Click Here for Application Package). You may also pick up an application package at our office.
PLEASE DO NOT HAND IN YOUR APPLICATION PACKAGE BEFORE ATTENDING AN INFORMATION SESSION.
If your application is completed following the Information Session, please return it to the agency via mail or in person or to a staff member at the Safety Session, as soon as possible.
PLEASE NOTE WE MUST HAVE THE ORIGINAL APPLICATION.
Step 3: Submit a VULNERABLE SECTOR SCREENING (VSS) police check.
Obtain a Vulnerable Sector Screening police form at the Information Session or download the form (Click Here for the York Region Police web site and VSS Application Form).
Complete the VSS form and drop it off at one of two locations:
