What are the steps to becoming a Little Brother or Little Sister?

Step 1: Obtain an application by requesting it from agency personnel ( 905-726-2149 x 0). Fill out and return your application via mail or in person. 

Step 2: Once your application has been submitted and reviewed by a Caseworker, additional waivers may have to be completed. If you receive these additional waivers, please ensure that you complete all information fields, sign each form and return to the agency as soon as possible. 

Step 3: If applicable, a Caseworker will contact support workers, doctors and social service agencies in regards to your application.  Also, if applicable, a letter will be sent to your child’s absent parent to inform him or her that an application has been made for your child.

 Step 4: After all the above is completed, the Intake Caseworker reviews your file.  As long as there are no concerns, your file is transferred to your Caseworker.  Your Caseworker will contact you to arrange a mutually convenient time to meet with you and your child to complete an assessment.

Step 5: You and your child will be required to attend a Child Safety Training Program at a convenient time and location. 

Step 6: Your file will be presented to a screening committee where it will be determined whether or not your child is accepted into the program.

Step 7:If accepted, the match process will commence.
